How to send an eCard in AMS Birthday Edition?

Hello everyone,

As you know, AMS Birthday Edition (AMSBE) can send automatic birthday greetings (cards and / or messages).

Maybe some users do not know how to send e card in AMSBE, so we will introduce this now:

1. Use AMSBE Built-in Greeting Cards
a) Click “eMails -> eMail templates manager” module link on the main interfcae.
b) Click <Add> or <Edit> on the toolbar to enter the edit mode.
c) Click <Insert> button, and then select “Built-in greetings cards…” menu item.
d) Select the card as you need, and then click <OK>.

2. eMail Greeting Cards by Using Your Own or Online eCards
a) b) are same as above.
c) Click <Adds image> button on the toolbar of Rich text email editor.
d) Paste the eCard location into [Picture Source] field or simply click <Browse…> button to choose a local eCard, and then click <OK>.

3. Note
a) In point 2nd, the [Picture Source] field supports WEB URL, so you can use an online eCard on the Internet. Sure, you can also download it to your local disk and then select it by <Browse…> button.

A basic and important knowledge about sending ability / limitation and whether the emails can be received by the receivers

Hello everyone,

The sending ability / limitation, and whether the emails can be received by the receivers are relied on your SMTP server and / or SMTP account, our email sender (Auto Mail Sender™ Birthday Edition, Auto Mail Sender™ File Edition and Auto Mail Sender™ Standard Edition) do not control these.

What is sending ability / limitation?
For instance:

  • AA eMail server only allows you to send to 100 recipients at most in an eMail.
  • BB eMail server only allows you to send up to 500 emails in one day.
  • CC eMail server only allows you to send to 200 recipients at most in one day.
  • DD eMail server does not allow you to send two or more emails within 2 minutes.
  • EE eMail server does not allow you to send 20 or more emails within 1 hour.

Why the emails cannot be received by the receivers?
There are some common reasons:

  • Delivered to the spam / junk folder.
  • Rejcected by the eMail server / account.
  • Your SMTP server cannot reach receiver’s email server (network reason, e.g. DNS error).
  • Receiver’s eMail account does not exist.
  • Receiver’s eMail account is disabled or discontinued.
  • Receiver’s mailbox is full.

When email card or send cards/ecard/messages by our emailers (Auto Mail Sender™ Birthday Edition, Auto Mail Sender™ File Edition and Auto Mail Sender™ Standard Edition), you may encounter above failed sendings, at that time, please check if your SMTP server / email account has these limitations, and above reason for receiver’s eMail server and / or eMail account.

Because our email senders 100% do not limit these, for above circumstances, you need to check your SMTP server/account first, and you may need to contact the email service provider or your system administrator.

How to do if you don’t see your license eMail?

How to do when you cannot sent out embedded images in our eMailers?

Hello everyone,

Sometimes, you MAY cannot send out embedded images in our eMailers, that is:
1. The received email has no picture in the message body, or displayed as a big red X.
2. Our eMailers report an error like this: URI formats are not supported.

This issue may be caused of:
1. Your picture is stored in a deep path. e.g. C:\documents and settings\a\b\c\d\e\f\logo.jpg.
2. The folder name has a long name. e.g. documents and settings.
3. The path name has some special characters, e.g. space, %, #, &, etc.

Specially, it has great possibility in Win2000/XP/2003.

So, to avoid or solve this issue, please:
1. Store your image in a simple folder, such as: D:\pics\logo.jpg.
2. Unfortunately, if you encountered this problem, don’t worry, just edit the source of the related email (template), change the Web URL format (automatically generated by your system) to Windows path to let it work. For instance:

Change
src=”file:///c:\Documents%20and%20Settings\b alagaddan\a b c\my Documents\my Pictures\new Folder (2)\1c.jpg”
to
src=”c:\Documents and Settings\b alagaddan\a b c\my Pictures\new Folder (2)\1c.jpg”

As above, we still strongly recommend you to use the short and simple path, even encountered this problem, it is easy to fix:
e.g. changing
src=”file:///d:\pic\me.jpg”
to
src=”d:\pic\me.jpg”
is easier.

At last, we will do our utmost to let our eMailers to be compatible with the web URL format.

Exciting Feature in Our Email Marketing Software – Pause, Continue, Stop Sending

As you know, the normal email clients cannot pause/continue/stop the sending, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Foxmail.

But our emarketing software can do this by clicking the visual toolbar buttons easily as below:

Pause/Continue/Stop Sending

With this feature, you can fully control sending your newsletter, greeting or emarketing emails to your clients, friends or other recipients conveniently.

For Instance
1. If you found that current sending used a wrong recipients list (may sent already or just chose an inappropriate file), just Stop it in our bulk email software.
2. Maybe you want to observe the sending progress and result for every recipient, and do not want to omit any important information. Unfortunately , you just need to leave your computer during sending, in this case, just Pause it, and when you come back, click <Continue> button to send the unsent messages.

Tips
1. The <Pause> button is only available when sending.
2. The <Continue> button is only available after clicked the <Pause> button.
3. After sent current message to all recipients, the <Stop> button is unavailable.

What is Macro? What can it do and how to use it?

Hello everyone,

As you know, all email senders & schedulers contain the “Macros Manager” and “Macro Editor” functions, and you can find many “Macro” words in their sites and documentations.

So, we intend to detail the Macro, for your reference.

What is Macro?

In our emailing software, “Macro” is just a symbol, and it will be replaced with the corresponding actual text when sending message.

Our email senders provide you with two types of macros:
1. Predefined – the built-in macros, you cannot edit or delete them. Their actual texts are relied on the recipient/festival information and your system time. There are 3 types of predefined macros: Recipient Information, Sending Date Time and Festival Information, the last one is only applies to AMS Birthday Edition). Such as “First name of recipient”, “Full name of recipient”, “Long date”, “Festival name”, etc.

2. User-defined – the custom macros, you can change or delete them as you need. Their actual texts are inputted by you manually. They are organized as “My information” and “Other information” by our newsletter and greetings email sender.

You can easily manage them on “Macros Manager” interface as blow:

What can it do?

A. Makes the personalized message in one email file/template.

Just use the “Recipient information” (predefined) macros to implement this in our email sender software, such as “First name of recipient”, “Full name of recipient”, etc.
This purpose is used to send the personalized newsletter, greeting and marketing emails usually.

For instance:
An eMail template in Auto Mail Sender™ Standard Edition as below:
[To]: Jack <jack@test.com>, Eric Smith <eric@test.com>
[Content]:
Dear {Full name of recipient},
Happy New Year!
[One-by-one mode]: Yes

After you sent this email successfully, Jack will receive an email like this:
Dear Jack,
Happy New Year!

And Eric will receive an email as below:
Dear Eric Smith,
Happy New Year!

B. Reduces your workload.
You can use some custom macros to let your work easy.
For instance: if you need to write your company name, address or bank information in email content often, you do not need to input them manually every time, instead you just need to create the related macros, once you need them, click the related menu items to insert them into the content.
Tips
1. The macros can be used in email subject and Content both.
2. The “Recipient Information” macros are used in one by one sending mode usually, or the message has only one [To] recipient.

How to use it?

As you think, you need not to input the long macro name manually, instead you can input them to email subject or content via clicking the related macro name under the Insert or Macro button/menu on the message writing or signature manager interfaces like below:

1. They will be represented as {macro name} automatically.
2. Macro names are case sensitive, and please do not change their identifications (contain {}) to ensure they are replaced with the actual texts as you needs.

On our official site, blog and the documentations of our email marketing software products, you can find many “personalized email” words.

Now, we will detail it, for your reference.

What is personalized email in our emarketing products?

In our bulk emailers, “personalized email” has the following characteristics:
1. The email contains many receivers in [To], [CC] and [BCC] fields, but every outgoing message is only sent to ONE recipient.
2. After your contacts received this email, every receiver will see ONLY his/her email address in [To] field, and no [CC]/[BCC] receivers.
3. Every recipient will see his/her name in email subject and/or content.

Usually, it is used to send the personalized newsletter, greeting and emarketing messages.

In other words, “personalized email” is similar to you writing and sending a message by the following steps:
1’ Fill [To] field with only ONE recipient.
2’ Write the name of above recipient and other words in [Subject] and/or [Content].
3’ Send this message.
4’ Repeat 1’ to 3’ many times (as the number of recipients).

How to make it?

As above, “Personalized Email” is so inviting: writing and sending your email ONE time to replace the hundreds of manual writing and sending.

So, how to do it?
It is so easy, just use the “Recipient information” predefined macros to implement this, such as {Full name of recipient}, {First name of recipient}, etc.

An important reason for cannot create/save/delete email templates in AMSSE

Hello everyone,

Sometimes, AMSSE may cannot create, save or delete email templates on Windows Vista+ systems.

Below is an important reason and its solution:

First, please confirm that you downloaded AMSSE from:
http://www.automailsender.com/auto-mail-sender.zip

If you are using the latest version, I think this is a file/folder access permissions issue.

Please change AMSSE data folder’s permissions as below (Add Everyone -> Full Control):

Data Folder
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\TSSI
Please change above bold text according to your system environment.

AMSSE Data Permissions

Please apply this to TSSI folder’s all sub folders and files.

Note: we have considered this issue on Vista/Win7 or later systems and processed it in AMSSE program code. So, usually, you cannot encounter this problem. But, if you encounter it due to some exceptions, please correct it as above solution.

How to upgrade AMS Birthday Edition v1.11- to v1.20?

Since Auto Mail Sender Birthday Edition had upgraded to version 1.20, some users encountered a problem during upgrade to the latest version (v1.20).
The issue is: AMS Birthday Edition always prompts user to upgrade version when it starts.

The reason and solution as below:

1.11- versions are portable software.
1.20 is not again.

Please follow below steps to update it:

1. Copy out your old database (amsbe.db) from old version (portable version, in a folder you placed).
2. Delete, rename or backup the old version.
3. Download the latest version, install it, copy the backup file (amsbe.db) to its folder (right-click the shortcut, and open file location).
4. Last: make sure the shortcut under the Startup menu points to the new version (right-click it and see the [Target] field). If not, delete the startup shortcut and reinstall the latest version.

Hello everyone,

If you encounter the following problem during using Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition:
The interface (especially SMTP Account Editor or Proxy Server Editor interfaces) cannot be loaded or displays as white, or the interface appears wrapped text.

You can try the following way to resolve it (provided by Greg, many thanks):

“It was definitely a font issue.

On the Win 7 computer, I reduced the font size from “largest” to “medium”, and it worked. Reducing the font size to “smallest” works too.

NOW, FOR THE WINDOWS XP COMPUTER:

The issue was a font issue, but there was only “normal” and “large” for the windows font settings. Neither setting made the program work properly. HOWEVER, the computer had an NVidia GeForce 7300 graphics card which also had a font setting. We set it to 96dpi “Normal” setting and the program now works properly.
