If you encounter the following problem during using Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition:
The interface (especially SMTP Account Editor or Proxy Server Editor interfaces) cannot be loaded or displays as white, or the interface appears wrapped text.

You can try the following way to resolve it (provided by Greg, many thanks):

“It was definitely a font issue.

On the Win 7 computer, I reduced the font size from “largest” to “medium”, and it worked. Reducing the font size to “smallest” works too.

NOW, FOR THE WINDOWS XP COMPUTER:

The issue was a font issue, but there was only “normal” and “large” for the windows font settings. Neither setting made the program work properly. HOWEVER, the computer had an NVidia GeForce 7300 graphics card which also had a font setting. We set it to 96dpi “Normal” setting and the program now works properly.

Thank you for all your time and assistance.

Hopefully, these details will help another user quickly resolve their issue.

One reason for “test OK but cannot send out any emails” and the solution

Recently, an user said that he can test SMTP account OK but cannot send out any emails in Auto Mail Sender serial products.

Through analyze the SMTP account settings and tested it in AMSSE, AMSBE, Thunderbird, Outlook, I got the following error message every time:

504 5.5.2 <XXXXX>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname

In above, XXXXX is your PC name.

If you encounter this issue, you can do the following steps to resolve it:

>> Get the properties for My Computer, next click Network Identification.
>> Click the properties button.
>> Under Computer name specify the HOST / Computer (example: test).
>> Next click the More button.
>> Where it says “Primary DNS suffix of this computer, enter your primary domain name.” click OK and OK again.
>> Now full computer name is: test.domain.com.

** You may have to restart the system**

If you do it with no luck, we recommend you contact your SMTP provider, I think it can be controlled by the server side.

As you see, on Auto Mail Sender Birthday/File Edition’s homepage, there is a saying like this: “32 and 64-bit applications in ONE copy!

Maybe you can not fully understand its meaning, this article will tell you that.

1. There is ONLY ONE copy of Auto Mail Sender Birthday/File Edition installer.

2. AMSBE/AMSFE can work on 32-bit Windows OS, at this time, it is a pure 32-bit application.

3. AMSBE/AMSFE can work on 64-bit Windows OS, at this time, it is a pure 64-bit application (not the 64-bit compatible 32-bit program). About this, please see the following screenshot:
AMSBE/AMSFE is a pure 64-bit program.

Today, a user said that he cannot use Gmail account to send email with AMSSE.

We checked everything referred to Gmail official help (“Problems sending mail”) at
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=78775

And found that all are OK, but still cannot send emails in any email client, such as Outlook, Thunderbird and our emailing software, the display reason is wrong password.

The requirements for checking new version and verifying license key.

As you know, our products check the new version and verifies your license key when it starts.

Of course, you may say the requirement is the Internet connection.
Yes, you are right and you need not to do anything if you have a direct Internet connection.

Alternatively, you may get the Internet connection through a proxy server / firewall.

If you use Internet Explorer and set this proxy server / firewall in Internet Options, you do not need to do any additional work.

But if you do not use Internet Explorer (such as Firefox, Chrome) and have not set this proxy server / firewall in IE’s Internet Options, the checking new version and verifying license key functions will not work. Because our products use Windows Internet settings (set in Internet Options) to connect the Internet, so, even if you do not use Internet Explorer, please set your proxy server / firewall in Internet Options still if you get the Internet connection through them.

Another thing, the Proxy Servers that set in our emailing products are not used for these, they are used to connect to the SMTP server(s) only.

A: To send daily documents automatically, please keep the files as the same name for everyday, then create an email template/file with this daily files and save it, at last, click <Schedule> button on the toolbar to set the automatic sending. Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition will do the remainder works.

Unfortunately, in this usage, you can not schedule the daily document that its name is not fixed:(

In fact, there is a replaceable way:
Attach the folder that contains your daily documents to your template
AMSSE will compress these files, so you do not worry about file size.

But this is not the final and perfect solution,
Yes, as your think, Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition will add the wildcard feature and file name macros for the attachments, that is, you can specify a placeholder for an attachment, such as ‘amsdebug{YYYYMMDD}.log’, in order to send the right file automatically.

Why do you need this?
Because there is a millionth probability, you can not open the ‘Add/Edit SMTP Account…’ interface properly.

If unfortunately you encounter this, don’t worry – you can set your SMTP accounts without the related interface of Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition.

Please do it follow these steps:
1. Open ‘C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\TSSI\AMS\data\smtp.dll’ (for Windows XP/2003) or ‘C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\TSSI\AMS\data\smtp.dll’ (for Windows Vista/7) in your usual text editor (such as Notepad, EditPlus, etc.).
Note, C: = system drive.
2. Input your email accounts manually:
* One line describes an account.
* All fields are separated by <Tab> character.
* There are 11 fields in a line.
* Can input several accounts.
* Format of one line:
0. SMTP Server1. Port2. Needs SSL (Y/N)3. Authentication Required (Y/N)4. User5. Password6. Display Name7. Email Address8. Display Name (Receipt Receiver)9. Email Address (Receipt Receiver)10. /SAEND (fixed)
* Sample accounts:
smtp.gmail.com 465 Y Y [email protected] 14ad yee xp test [email protected] yee xp test [email protected] /SAEND

3. After created accounts manually, you can set the default one in the SMTP Accounts list tab page on the ‘Options’ interface, if you can not do it also, please append the following content to ‘C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TSSI\AMS\data\options.dll’ (for Windows XP/2003) or ‘C:\Program Data\TSSI\AMS\data\smtp.dll’ (for Windows Vista/7)
Note, C: = system drive.

Note: the line below [SMTP Account] is your actual account setting which inputted in smtp.dll.

How to enable SMTP functionality in Gmail?

Hello everyone,

As you know, Our newsletter/greeting emailing software support to create Gmail account directly, so you do not need to remember or refer to any related information about Gmail SMTP settings.

But to send email in our newsletter/greeting emailing software by using Gmail, you must enable the SMTP functionality in Gmail first.
To enable the SMTP functionality in Gmail, just enable the POP functionality.
