One reason for “test OK but cannot send out any emails” and the solution

Recently, an user said that he can test SMTP account OK but cannot send out any emails in Auto Mail Sender.

Through analyze the SMTP account settings and tested it in AMSSE, AMSBE, Thunderbird, Outlook, I got the following error message every time:
”
504 5.5.2 : Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname
”
In above, XXXXX is your PC name.

If you encounter this issue, you can do the following steps to resolve it:

>> Get the properties for My Computer, next click Network Identification.
>> Click the properties button.
>> Under Computer name specify the HOST / Computer (example: test).
>> Next click the More button.
>> Where it says “Primary DNS suffix of this computer, enter your primary domain name.” click OK and OK again.
>> Now full computer name is: test.domain.com.

** You may have to restart the system**

If you do it with no luck, we recommend you contact your SMTP provider, I think it can be controlled by the server side.

How to do when AMS cannot send emails by Gmail account?

Hello everyone,

Today, a user said that he cannot use Gmail account to send email in our mail auto software.

We checked everything referred to Gmail official help (“Problems sending mail”) at

http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=78775

And found that all are OK, but still cannot send emails in every email clients, such as Outlook, Thunderbird and our mail auto software, the reason is wrong password.

Accidentally, we found an article that names “My client isn’t accepting my username and password“, followed its steps, everything goes well! The reason is the SMTP function is locked by Google temporarily.

Hello everyone,

As you know, Auto Mail Sender checks the new version and verifies your license key when it starts.

Of course, you may say the requirement is the Internet connection.
Yes, you are right and you need not to do anything if you have a direct Internet connection.

Alternatively, you may get the Internet connection through a proxy server / firewall.

If you use Internet Explorer and set this proxy server / firewall in Internet Options, you do not need to do any additional work.

But if you do not use Internet Explorer (such as Firefox, Chrome) and have not set this proxy server / firewall in IE’s Internet Options, then Auto Mail Sender‘s checking new version and verifying license key functionalities will not work. Because Auto Mail Sender uses Windows Internet settings (set in Internet Options) to connect the Internet, so, even if you do not use Internet Explorer, please set your proxy server / firewall in Internet Options still if you get the Internet connection through a proxy server / firewall.

Another thing, the Proxy Servers that set in Auto Mail Sender are not used for these, they are used to send your emails only.

On the ‘FAQ’ page, we wrote:
Q: How to send daily documents automatically?
A: To send daily documents automatically, please keep the files as the same name for everyday, then create a email template with this daily files and save it, at last, click <Schedule> button on the toolbar to set the automatic sending. Our automated email marketing software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition will do the remainder works.

Unfortunately, in this usage, you can not schedule the daily document that its name is not fixed:(

In fact, there is a replaceable way:
Attach the folder that contains your daily documents to your template
AMSSE will compress these files, so you do not worry about file size.

But this is not the final and perfect solution,
Yes, as your think, our automated email marketing software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition will add the wildcard feature and file name macros for the attachments, that is, you can specify a placeholder for an attachment, such as ‘amsdebug{YYYYMMDD}.log’, in order to send the right file automatically.

How to set SMTP accounts without related interface?

Hello everyone,

Why do you need this?
Because there may be one ten thousandth of the probability, you can not open the ‘Add/Edit SMTP Account…’ interface properly.

If unfortunately you encounter this, don’t worry – you can set your SMTP accounts without the related interface of our email automation software – Auto Mail Sender.

Please do it follow these steps:
1. Open ‘C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\TSSI\AMS\data\smtp.dll’ (for Windows XP/2003) or ‘C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\TSSI\AMS\data\smtp.dll’ (for Windows Vista/7) in your usual text editor (such as Notepad, EditPlus, etc.).
Note, C: = system drive.
2. Input your email accounts manually:
* One line describes an account.
* All fields are separated by <Tab> character.
* There are 11 fields in a line.
* Can input several accounts.
* Format of one line:
0. SMTP Server1. Port2. Needs SSL (Y/N)3. Authentication Required (Y/N)4. User5. Password6. Display Name7. Email Address8. Display Name (Receipt Receiver)9. Email Address (Receipt Receiver)10. /SAEND (fixed)
* Sample accounts:
smtp.gmail.com 465 Y Y yeeee@gmail.com 14ad yee xp test yeeee@gmail.com yee xp test yeeee@gmail.com /SAEND
smtp.tssi.com 25 N Y test@tssi.com 123abc test user test@tssi.com test user test@tssi.com /SAEND
3. After created accounts manually, you can set the default one in the SMTP Accounts list tab page on the ‘Options’ interface, if you can not do it also, please append the following content to ‘C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TSSI\AMS\data\options.dll’ (for Windows XP/2003) or ‘C:\Program Data\TSSI\AMS\data\smtp.dll’ (for Windows Vista/7)
Note, C: = system drive.

Hello everyone,

As you know, from version 5.0, our email automation software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition supports at the same time to set more than one sending (accurate to the minute).

But please note that the actual sending time is your current system time when the related email has been sent, except you use the custom sending time for the related emails.

The actual delay time is based on your network speed and the size of emails.

Hello everyone,

As you know, Our send email later software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition supports creating Gmail account directly, so you do not need to remember or refer to any related information about Gmail SMTP settings.

But to send email in our send email later software – Auto Mail Sender by using Gmail, you must enable the SMTP functionality in Gmail.
To enable the SMTP functionality in Gmail, just enable the POP functionality.

Hello everyone,

If you use Windows Vista/7+, you must have seen the following check box in the last step of our send email later software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition installer:
‘To ensure that Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition works properly, you MUST install the DHTML Editing Component (provides by Microsoft) for the Windows Vista/7+ OS if you have never installed it.’

So, if you are reinstalling or upgrading our send email later software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition version, please uncheck this option to complete reinstall or upgrade faster.

‘Custom sender’ functionality in email senders.

Hello everyone,

As you know, most email senders can custom the sender (include display name and email address), such as our automatic mail software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition, Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.

But do you know, a few email servers can identify it, and after you got messages from these servers, the custom email address will be displayed as the actual one, for instance: Gmail.

So, if you found this functionality can not work properly in our automatic mail software – Auto Mail Sender Standard Edition, please check the related email server.
